About the Guidance Counselor position

We are looking for an experienced Guidance Counselor who will support and educate elementary٫ middle and/or high school students with the help of a well-prepared counseling program٫ to enable the students to become mature and well-functioning adults. Your duties will include assisting students to attain their academic or career goals٫ and to develop their social and mental capacity.

You should be a qualified professional with great attention to students’ needs. Good ability to understand problems and to guide people towards their goals is also required.

Guidance Counselor responsibilities are:

  • Prepare an all-encompassing educational and counseling plan with modern methods of teaching and mentoring
  • Build equal opportunity practices and encourage students’ association
  • Perform group or individual counseling sessions to assist students with problems or concerns
  • Help students realise their strengths by assessing their students
  • Take into account cultural or societal differences in dealing with the students
  • Analyze the progress of students and reinforce the sense of accomplishment
  • Detect behavioral problems or at-risk students and act appropriately
  • Work together with parents and teachers as well as other interested parties
  • Perform assessments and tests٫ analyse results and provide feedback
  • Explore and update student records
  • Organize reviews on progress

Guidance Counselor requirements are:

  • 3+ years’ experience of working on a Guidance Counselor or Teacher position
  • Significant experience with various models of teaching٫ best counseling practices and regulations
  • Excellent ability to operate within a wide range of student personalities and backgrounds
  • Strong communication skills and high emotional intelligence abilities
  • Integrity and professionalism
  • Basic knowledge of computers
  • MA degree in school or guidance counseling; guidance counseling credentials is a must
